Instant ordering tech put Flash Order in the spotlight at NRA 2024
At this year’s National Restaurant Association Show, our booth caught the attention of Restaurant Business writer Joe Guszkowski, who highlighted Flash Order in his article on emerging mobile ordering tech. While kiosks dominated much of the show floor, he pointed to App Clips and Instant Apps as a promising alternative—featuring Flash Order as one of the few companies pushing that innovation forward.
Using an NFC tag embedded in a lamp, we demonstrated how customers could instantly access a branded ordering interface with just a tap—no downloads, no app store, no added friction. As Guszkowski noted, “It immediately opens a restaurant-branded app to begin the ordering process.”
"Ultimately we believe that the right way to place orders is on everybody’s phones,” said Jon Lund, Flash Order’s Co-Founder & Lead Engineer.
In an industry where every second matters, we’re excited to see others recognizing this shift. We’re proud to be building tools that simplify operations—for both the guest and the team behind the counter.
